The X-Factors were formed in 2001 by a small group of college students at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Their goal was to produce amazing music while maintaining the individuality of each member and infusing the passion that each person, no matter what major, felt for music.

Today, we are a thriving group of eighteen wacky, passionate, and genuine friends who major in everything from theatre to mechanical engineering to economics to French! Though more than 10 years have passed since the original group was created, we still strive to create a diverse environment within the group, while ensuring unique and memorable performances.

 

We perform in our own sold-out shows on-campus, but we also love giving back to the community and going on tour! In recent years, we were featured on Chicago’s WGN radio and toured around Southern California performing at high schools, nursing homes, and running workshops for middle/high school students. Other cities on our tours have included Austin, Texas, Wisconsin Dells, Detroit, and many more!

 

The X-Factors have released five CDs and have been selected for compilation CDs like “Voices Only.”  For our past and current work, we have been nominated for CARA awards, been featured on VOICES ONLY 2013 and BOCA 2013. We were also honored to receive a great review from Mike Chin of The A Cappella Blog.

 

Our newest album, Singing in the Dark, is now available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
